It is a self-abandonment,
a wandering out of ourselves.
It is a voluntary death, wherein
the lover dies to himself and all his own
interests,
not thinking of them or caring for them any more.
He minds nothing, but how he may please
and bless the one whom he loves.
Be it God,
be it a person,
be it a family,
or be it a people.
